Project Ideas

Your project can be anything that you think would help your community!  Just make sure that you’re educating everyone so that a similar tragedy doesn’t happen in the future.  Your project can be big.  It can be small.  The most important thing is that you do something.  Show everyone that youth will take a positive step to help.  You’ll be leaving a mark on your community forever!

Check out these project ideas:

Candlelight Vigil – Host a time for everyone to come together, light some candles, and remember those that have been lost.

Student Safety Week Activities – Share statistics, hang flyers on lockers, make announcements, have an assembly, and challenge students to be safe.

Red Ribbon Challenge – Ask local businesses and community members to purchase red ribbon that can be wrapped around the school to show remembrance for those lost.

Elementary School Letter Writing Project – Have elementary school students make cards or write letters to their high school peers, reminding them to make safe decisions.

Lifesavers
– Give out cards that list important safety statistics.  Include a piece of candy and the message “Safety is a Lifesaver”.

Parent-Teen Pledge
– Create a pledge that both parents and teens can sign.

Posters and Displays – Create a great, eye-catching display, and post it around your community.
