 Health and wellness are essential to support a youth's educational success.

 

The NOYS Health & Wellness Working Group works to create collaboration among organizations with missions that advocate for healthly youth development.  Many organizations, business and industry leaders, and federal partners have programming to address youth health and wellness.  Health and wellness are essential to support a youth's educational success. The current childhood obesity crises, as well as stress management, mental health, physical health, diet, exercise, spirituality, healthy environment, happiness and others are foundational to enhancing safe and healthy lifestyles for all youth.



Staying Active and Eating Healthy

Exercising and eating right is part of living a healthy lifestyle. It is important to understand what your body needs, and what is an appropriate weight for you individually. To find out if you are at a healthy weight, calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) and find out tips on what to eat and how much to eat. Consult your health care provider for information on how to create a healthy plan.
