The Sprint Foundation is accepting applications for its Sprint Ahead for Education Grant Program to support character education - youth leadership, youth volunteerism, school pride, and a positive school culture - among K-12 students.

Award amounts are $500-$5,000 for schools and $10,000-$25,000 for school districts. Eligible applicants are US public schools (K-12) and US public school districts.

Oracle Education Foundation Invites Students and Teachers to Take Part in ThinkQuest International 2008

 Deadline: April 2, 2008

 The Oracle Education Foundation ( http://www.oraclefoundation.org/ )  has announced the opening of ThinkQuest International 2008 and is  inviting students and teachers from around the globe to take part  in the international project learning competition.

 ThinkQuest is open to students between the ages of 9 and 19 and their teacher-coaches worldwide. Students are encouraged to team  with peers in other regions to develop Web sites on educational  topics. The program is designed to help participants develop important skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, self-  direction, problem solving, and technology skills. In addition, students become published Web-authors in the popular ThinkQuest Library, sharing their work with thirty million Web learners each  year.

 Professional educators will judge all submitted Web sites for ThinkQuest International 2008.

 Qualifying entries will be published in the ThinkQuest Library.

 Winners will receive prizes from the Oracle Education Foundation, including laptops and $1,000 school grants for the top five teams  in each age division, travel to the annual ThinkQuest Live event  for the top three teams in each division, and digital cameras for  the team that receives the Global Perspectives Award.

Tolerance.org -- Mix It Up Grants

Description: The Mix It Up Grants program funds youth-directed activist
projects that focus on identifying, questioning, and crossing social
boundaries in schools and communities.

Who May Apply: Youth-directed programs
